| human or dog food? I have never fed my Pebbles any human food. But I see that a lot of you have? Is this good? I was told by the breeder and vet that to stick with her dog food? Now I don't know what to do? |

| Kibble is best for their teeth and a lot of vets and breeders recommend feeding only kibble. I know one member here feeds her dog a BARF (raw human grade meat) diet and is very happy with it. I think it all depends on you and what you feel comfortable doing for Pebbles

| Human or dog food I think you should just feed it its own food becuase then itll get used to you giving it the human food sence they have a little stomach they are not proned to eating human food and may become sick or ill!And then when you are eating the dogs all over you! |

| i have issues with people who say that you can never feed your dog anything but dog food. when my boyfriend was growing up in ireland, they just fed their dog table scraps. they didn't have the millions of dog foods that's available here, and the dogs were fine! the only thing my vet said was that if i do feed archie human food, to make sure to put it in his bowl and not give it to him by hand, so that he doesn't start to beg when I eat. archie loves canned carrots, which I cook warm. he also likes mashed potatoes, hard boiled eggs, steak, hamburger meat, boiled chicken, turkey, shepard's pie, cheese and green apples. I feed him innova wet food, so it's like the same stuff that's in there. And he eats Royal Canin kibble and milk bone dog biscuits for treats. he doesn't get human food every day, but if we make something that is suitable for him to eat, he gets a little bit in his bowl. his main food, though, is innova and RC. |

| Gucci eats kibble and sometimes wet dog food. I do give her sometimes white rice, pieces of cheese, chicken and she loves it. |

| My vet said that the ONLY problem with feeding a dog human food is that he will want it, if you do it all the time, he may get to the point where he is a picky eater...also weight. If he's feed human food, watch his weight-you may be giving him too much food. Other than that, it isn't "bad" for them. There are a list of foods that Yorkies shouldn't eat. I know amoung that list is chocolate, milk, undercooked meat products, grapes...there are others, but I cannot think of what they are. I have a book that tells you what they are.

| I fed Pebbles scrambled eggs this morning, just a little, hope it goes down well. I read from all the experienced Yorkie owners here that it is okay so I am trying it., It is just that the breeder and vet scared me to death and I would die if anything happened to her. I have heard that they are so frail. Oh well I jumped the gun this morning and she really enjoyed it! Thanks |
