| Feeding Time Hello, Long time forum lurker, but new to posting here. I have a dog, 6 months old, half yorkie & half chiwawa. They call them Chorkie's? Go figure . Anyhow, I have been feeding her, since I got her, Eukanuba Dry Dog Food. I used to feed her Iam's when I first got her, then stopped with the wet food. Basically I am feeding her Eukanuba, but I just leave the dog food out for her to eat whenever. I read all the other post's about other dog brand's, and although Brooklyn doesn't have any problems eating Eukanuba, I am switching her over to Chicken Soup, after all the great post's I have read. Basically my question is, if it makes any sense, sorry if it doesn't, that you are feeding you dogs, mostly dry food from what I have read? And basically feeding them lunch/dinner? Like do you just take a certain amount of dry food, and put it in there bowl at a certain time everyday? Sorry for all mess, but as a first time dog owner, I rather get things right, then have my little one get sick or have problems. Brooklyn eats, dont get me wrong, nothing problem with feeding, I just want to know, how you feed your little ones, at what times, etc. I found some post's on free feeding, but that was just post's about people saying on the board's, "I just free feed my dog". The thing I don't get it, when people say, *vet* make sure you leave water out for her, and food always? So what is the point of feeding them for lunch and dinner, if the food is always there? Maybe I am just confused, and I will read all your post's. Thanks for your time, and hope to hear from all of you soon. Once again, thanks, and I am learning a lot on these boards. -Vishal Kuber |

| I feed Mya Royal Cainin 33 dry food. I put boiling water on it. Let it sit for a while drain it then dump it on a little plate to cool. I feed her in the morning and now she prefers later at night like at 10 pm. If I left her food down the cat or my other dog would eat it. My other dog has special senior food for inactive dogs. Which I leave on the floor for him. Sometimes Mya will munch a little bit on it. Mya is used to having the cat and my other dog Comic steal her food that even when I feed her on my bed she covers it first then eats it...lol

| This is what I do... When they are young and are puppies then I free feed them and leave food and water out for them all day 24/7. I feel it is very important that as puppies they have food and water all the time. Then as they get older, usually around 1 I start feeding them 3 times a day, morning, lunch, dinner. Then as they get a little bit older, or depending on how much they eat, I will feed them only once a day(usually in the morning) since they don't eat as much and don't need to.
