| Which Dog Food Brand?? Okay, for the past 12 months, I have been feeding Princess the Iams for puppies.. because that was what her original owner fed her the first 12 weeks before I bought her. Now, on one thread, someone said Iams was not good for dogs so I switched to Royal Canine for Yorkies.. but I just read on another thread it could cause itchy skin and stuff?? Is this true?? But wasn't Royal Canine rated on of the best for dogs?? If I am mistaken then what is the best for Yorkies? Or what do you feed your Yorkies? Thanks a lot!! |

| I would like to know this too. I got Royal Canin for Shylah because that is what the breeder fed her and now she won't eat it. She wants to eat Starsky's Nutro lamb and rice. Should I go get the puppy version of that for her?

| Royal Canine has corn in it and corn makes some, not all, yorkies itchy bc they are allergic to it. Other than the corn, Royal Canine is a great food. So, feed it to your yorkie and if you don't notice her itching, then it will be fine! If you notice her itching, switch to a food that doesn't contain corn like Chicken Soup or Merricks. |

| Please help with choice of food Reese is not only overweight and basically inactive (at 4 years old next month) but she has a very sensitive stomach and seems to throw up every few days. She is not throwing up undigested food but bile.. sometimes clear and sometimes foamy. I am concerned about her doing damage to her organs since this has become pretty regular since I had changed her food to Wellness lite formular. It did not happen for several months but now it seems as if she is vomiting almost daily, two times daily. She otherwise acts herself, still eats even seconds after she throws up. She is only getting about 1/4 cup of wellness 2x daily. I am going to take her to the vet tomorrow, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas. First I would like a very good quality, natural low calorie dog food that someone has used which their yorkie loved and lost weight. Second, I was wondering if anyone knew why she would be vomiting so often and white foamy bile. It seems that she does it right when she wakes up in the morning and right before her dinner at 6PM. Could she be hungry which would therefore cause her to vomit? Any help would be appreciated. I would like to start weaning her off of the Wellness food today. |

| I feed Canidae All Life Stages because it contains no CORN, WHEAT, SOY, grain fractions or fillers and it is naturally preserved (I don't know what that last one means, but it sounds good to me). I feed the puppies Nutro Ultra Puppy food for the same reasons, no corn, wheat or soy. |

| Please have the vet check her for Whip worms and to check her Thyroid. One of the signs of Whip worms is throwing up the foamy bile. Her weight at that age should be checked before a diet is changed. Good luck and I hope your vet can get it all in order for you. Debbie Ray www.sumtoiyorkies.com |

| I feed Frankie Royal Canin Puppy 33 brand, that is what her breeder fed her. She likes it, although she is a finikiy eater to begin with. It is supposedly one of the better brand foods. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Brightlife I feed mine by Nature Brightlife Canine Formula. Our breeder used this product and both will eat it. Once during the day I do give them chopped up boiled chicken or cottage cheese or turkey.

Cons: Insufficent meat content, liberal use of low quality grains, controversial fillers. I actually didn't realize that it contains beet pulp too! That's a by-product that is said to produce that redish tear stain look. I actually mix that with the Merricks. I have been noticing Baby itching more than normal. I'm not gonna buy it anymore. But that's just me. Remember...you can give your furbaby the bestest food in the world, if they don't eat it, you have to find something lower on the totem pole that they will eat. Right?

| Wow, there are so many different replies from everyone! I just called Petco and asked them if I could switch Royal Canin with something else and they said that it was fine. Now after these posts, I am even more confused! What should I switch it to? Nutro is a good one right? |
