PinkMartini So you do not give your yorkie dog food? Only raw food? Everyone gets on to me when I feed my little one eggs or carrots or green beans, but you think this is okay.

I think the b.a.r.f diet is fine, and if its working for these dogs its wonderful because in my opinion,NOTHING beats the taste and healthyness of real food.As I said in another post, years ago no body bought expensive kibble for their dogs..dogs were brought up on people food and lived for years with no problems.Hasnt anyone stopped to think why some dogs have alergic reactions to kibble? Why it can effect their skin, their health? Its because kibble is just dehidrated rubbish, its full of chemicals and god knows what else and to top it all off it smells awful, not to mention how its got to taste.I dont care what the ingredients say,how wonderful the packaging is or how expensive it is..once they dehidrate the so called "human grade" meat and vegatables and add the conservants and what ever else they throw in,kibble is just chemical rubbish.I tried lots of brands of kibble before we stuck to eukanuba..hills made my babies chew on their feet,RC caused dry skin and gases, and even though eukanuba seems to work for mine..I dont like it. Saying that taking dog food away from our dogs and putting them on human food will make them lack certain vitamins is silly (imho) because we eat the exact same food and we dont need any vitamin suppliments. What im getting at is,we will never know what really goes into dog kibble because in my opinion most brands will simply tell us what we want to hear so that their product will sell, that their food is the best and has all natural, fresh, healthy ingredients..although I cant see where the freshness or naturalness is in a hard brown pellet If it were all so natural and all so fresh,it wouldent have side effects on dogs as if it were a kind of medication.Iv given my babies fruit, veggies, rice, meat etc,the list of human food that my babies have eaten is very long and not once have they had an alergic reaction to any of it..but they have had reactions to kibble I think Iv made my point..lol,Im getting down from my soap box now. After all, hundreds of years of healthy dogs on people food cant be wrong

I'm just going to add a word of caution about raw feeding. Please make sure you research it well before trying it, and remember not all dogs will do well on it. I have heard of a few toys developing pancreatits after eating raw chicken. Toy dogs are not the same as Wolfs or even large breed dogs.

I dont think mine would eat raw meat, but they do like boiled chicken etc.Im seriously thinking of starting mine on a natural diet soon and taking them off of the kibble because Jess is a year old and Lady is 17 months now.I think they are at a good age to take them off of the puppy kibble and start giving them selected foods..the only difference is that I will boil or steam everything.I dont like the idea of raw meat.
