Lexy has bloody stools! We are going to the vet at 1:30! Lexy has very bright red bloody stools! Sorry to be gross but I'm scared! She isn't acting sick at all, but she is so tiny I'm afraid this is serious! Does anyone know anything about these symptoms?????/

Coccidia? Poor baby! I wonder if it is coccidia? If it is your vet will treat it with albon. I think there is a puppy on this list that had simular problems. But have your vet to check her out and let us know what your vet said. Hope Lexy feels better.

Ohh my...poor Lexi. Mojo has blood in his poop too...but it wasn't followed by real diarreah, it was just softer than normal...he acted just fine. At the vet we found out it was just something he ate that hurt his stomach (later on i found out it was a piece of a plastic pen..hehe)

hope it's all ok... My wife and I were puzzled to awake to several red stains when our little girl was a few months old...then we watched in horror as she passed bright red blood a couple of times in close order...of course we rushed her to the vets, cradling her, afraid she was going to bleed out at any moment...(we prayed and put her in the Lord's hands)...but still rather tense when we arrived at the Docs...(she was rather subdued but not comatose)...seems colitis is not an unusual diagnosis for many small breeds...(and our little girl now full grown is only 3 lbs)...but a change in diet, some rest, and close attention to her fluid status got her over it with minimal anxiety...except for the Metochlopromide the Vet prescribed which we discovered later that night she was allergic to...(seizure type response)...but anyway...am writing all this to say we also were extremely alarmed but she weathered it very well, and trust you too, will do well...but have learned this...the smaller they are, the more frail their constitutions...and table scraps are a no no.
