| help i cant get my new baby to eat i brought home a male teacup yorkie, well thats what the guy said he was but im not sure i dont know his weight but he is 10 wks old, he wont eat anything but took a few sips of water, he keeps whining and i dont know what he wants, he seems timid to move around as well, i know he is getting use to his surroundings but his whining worries me cause i dont know what he wants. the breeder did not potty train him and the puppy stores are closed so i havnt gotten a harness n leash for him so i was worried he would mess the place, surprisingly i took out a newspaper n put it down and he spun around in circles for a few mins and peed and did the do. i took up the paper surprised and put a piece of paper towel down n left the room to find more paper. when i came back he peed again on the paper towel. he seems potty trained but now i just need him to eat and he is on a eukabena diet which doesnt look appealing at all. i want to feet him dry food but i need something interesting to make him eat. |

| are you feeding him the same food that he is used to eating from the breeder? maybe you could try wetting it a bit or grating carrot into it or anything else you can think of that would entice him. he can't go without food very long cause he is so tiny, so find something that will get nutrition into him - maybe a tiny bit of a good quality canned food? omega |

| you should probably wet the food. he is still really young. keep him close to you at all times and if he doesnt eat soon keep him on something like pedialyte, nutrical, or syrup until you can get him to a vet. welcome to yt and keep us updated!

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk!!! You need him to eat for sure. Heat some water and soak a few pieces of the food...sometimes they will eat it that way after it cools a bit. Tomorrow be sure and go to the pet store and get some Nutri-Cal or Nutri-Stat to keep his sugar up. I gave Oscar frosted Cheerios to make sure his sugar did not crash too low. They love those! If he is used to eating the puppy food you have he will eat when he his hungry. He is just scared in his new home. Just hold him and talk to him...reassure him it will be o.k. Bond with him. Good luck!!! Make sure you get him vet checked right away as well!

| Nutrical is a highly concentrated sticky paste that they love! It has a lot of sugar and other nutrients in it that you can give them to keep their sugar up. These pups can go down really fast if they don't eat and their blood sugar drops dramatically...they can go into a coma and die. You want to watch him and make sure he eats, stays active and happy. The vet will be able to explain all of this to you better. Get him to a vet as soon as you can!

| Welcome to YorkieTalk!!!! Try hand feeding him.Maybe try moist food. Try giving him Nutrical every Two Hours.Put a small amount on your finger and give it to him. Check with the Breeder what kind of water they have. With my two boys the breeder had well water. It took them a while to like City water. Put the babys sit up in the room with you so he wont be lonely.
