| dry skin I has read that most everyone bathes their furbabies once a week. That is what I have been doing with buddy, but he is starting to get some dry skin where his collar is. The vet suggested putting some peanut oil in his food to help moisten his skin. Does anyone agree or have any other suggestions for dry skin. |

| A couple of things 1. What are you feeding him? If corn is one of the 1st ingredients this could be part of the problem 2. What shampoo are you using? Oatmeal shampoo helps with itching 3. I WOULD NOT use peanut oil (Salmon Oil, Olive Oil, Missing Link-Omega 3) P.S. I am not a believer of a Yorkie wearing a collar - to much damage can be done to their trachia.

| My Bella had very dry flakey skin when I brought her home from the breeders. I give her fish oil on her food and the dry skin has stopped completely. I also bought some extremely gentle shampoo from the vet (Dermacare) which I think helps her skin from drying out from her baths. I bought the fish oil from Petsmart--it's in a white bottle with a pump. I also use oatmeal shampoo from time to time to prevent the itchies. |
