| Would like opinions please... As some of you know, I placed Daisy with my brother last week. Well, they brought her back and said that they didn't have the time that she needed for training.. With that being said, I need to take her in to get spayed. She is scheduled for this coming Thursday.. She is just now 6 months and I noticed last night a tooth that needs to be pulled. Should I wait a bit longer and see if she has any other problem teeth or does that tooth need to come out ASAP. The adult tooth has already broke through the skin and is right next to the baby tooth.. I am just not sure how quickly the teeth need to come out once they are showing... Any advice. |

| WHen I have mine spaye or neutered I always wait till their teeth are done coming in that way if any needs pulled they can do everything at the same time. I just don't want to put them under two times if I don't have to. |

| I would give it about another month so you can see if more teeth need pulled that way she won't have to go under again. When I had Lucky neutered he had double canines & once he had them pulled his teeth are fine. So even if they do come in all the way, she should be fine. BTW...do you plan on keeping her now? Just wondering....

| Oh Hooray!! Lynn, I am so glad DaisyMae is back with you!! She's such a honey! Wosie had two baby front incisors that did not fall out until the adult teeth were almost full grown. I think they will eventually come out on their own. Make sure she has plenty of hard chew toys around, and a little game of tug of war works pretty good. I would not wait to spay her. JMO

| Here's a great article on retained baby teeth. http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/health/teeth.htm I might hold off for a short while so you could do both at once because i don't believe that they will eventually fall out and leaving them too long causes damage so you might be looking at putting her under twice in a very short time; however, you might run into a first heat too. i just got a 3 year old rescue that still has baby teeth. just letting her settle in and then i am going to take her in for baby teeth extractions (probably some adult teeth too by the looks of it) and cleaning. |

| Usually, it's between 5 ~ 6 months. Some dogs, however, don't lose their teeth by themselves and have to extracted. Aggie had three that needed to be pulled out because they wouldn't never come out on their own. In the meantime, she had MAJOR foul foul breath! Oh yeah, that's another sign too. |

| I've put off getting my dog neutered - but we're making the appointment in a week or two. He has only one "double tooth" left. He had four doubles and since the others have fallen out one by one, I would suspect that this one will too. But, I am going to go ahead and get him neutered and as far as this one tooth goes, I do whatever the vet advises. My pup is almost 9 months old - and he lost one of his teeth only a week ago.
