| Help! Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the "eye crusties" that Coco gets? She hates anyone messing with her face, and I 'm having a hard time removing those!! |

| i don't have any advice but I am watching this thread. My newest puppy, who is now five months old is the same way. She goes wild when I try to do anything to her face and it is awful around her eyes. |

| I clean Dezi's with a moist cotton ball. Every night when she is too tired to run away from me. |

| just keep at it, she'll get used to it after a while. bunjee used to hate it too. i'd wipe it off with a warm towel or just pick it off with my index finger. now he'll just close his eyes and wait until i'm done. |

| i have the same problem. I was wondering about using those special eye wipes.Does anyone else use them? And perhaps keeping the hair under her eyes shorter?

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Eyes I usually clean it up when I bathe Lex. I have the wipes as well...but I find it much easier to do when he is all drenched in the sink being bathed. At that point he is resigned to what is being done. When I try to do it with the wipes afterwards then he isn't happy with me messing around by his eyes. I have been bathing him every three days now being that it is warmer and he is all over the place rolling around like nuts. So it helps to keep his eyes cleaner than most. I just have to work with him on getting his nails trimmed. You would think it was the end of the world...

| If you keep at it she will get used to it! I use a wet washcloth everynight before we go to bed, and my girls really dont mind it!

| i also clean mine with a warm washcloth everyday. it's a lot easier to remove it once a day then once a week. also, i had one dog that would develop an infection if not removed daily. they do get use to it even if they don't like it. i have never tried the wipes. |

| i find the wipes (made for removing eye crust) don't really work well. i bought them once and gave them away. i just saturate the area with warm water and a little tearless puppy shampoo and start wiping and picking with my index finger. no fun for me or romeo. there has to be a better way. this sucks and i feel so bad for romeo. plus, the crust seems to be getting worse with spring in the air. |

| Warm washcloths work best. You can use plain water or add a little baby shampoo (if it's a bit stinky) and be sure to rinse well! They don't like it but will get used to it after a while. I also heard that yogurt in their diet helps with the eye-goo but I haven't seen any improvement.

| I use a warm washcloth every morning-there is less eye goo to get rid of. I also cut the hair around Max's sweet little face and that has really helped. I think the hair was constantly in his eye causing them to run. It really opened up his face and I've noticed a decrease in the amount of eye goo in the mornings.

| Try using distilled water for the babies to drink. I see a big difference in my baby's eyes after only 1 week. |
