| Throws up after drinking alot of water Has that ever happened to anyone? Seems that every time Max dives into a bowl of water (not just a sip but a good hardy drink) he spits up a little. Should I be worried? I mean I am but should I be? Sharon |

| Hello there! My little Wicket spits up sometimes after drinking lots of water...particularly if I pick him up shortly after he just drank a lot! It's always clear and looks pretty much just like water...I've never worried too much about it. He always just goes back to playing and being normal, so I figure it's nothing to be too concerned about. We go to the vet on Saturday so I'll just mention it to her and let you know what she says (if you're interested). |

| My daughter has a lab that will do that. I think they just drink to fast, and gulp air, then need to burp. |

I have heard that you can put something in the water to slow down their drinking, as goofy as this sounds, it might have been a rock? I'm not sure that's right, but it was something solid that they'd have to drink around. Sorry, not much help! | |

| I'm sure it's the same thing as when a little baby drinks more milk than its tummy can hold....... you know how little babies spit up all the time --- especially if you start bouncing them around! I wouldn't worry... Carol Jean |

| Aggie did that once when she drank like a camel. But, afterwards, she seemed fine. Continued to play as usual. I'm sure it's not a big deal. |

| tucker does this also, he starts gulping it down when tripp comes up behind him. he drinks like its the last bowl on earth!! it's pretty funny. but he does spit up a little, and i think its just because he's had too much.

| Hey I know this is an older thread, but I'm wondering what the vets said, and if there are any more opinions or discoveries on this topic. Nikko has recently starting doing this fairly often, and it is usually after he's had a lot to drink, but worrywart that I am.... I'm worried, lol. He also did it earlier today when he drank quite a bit, then played like mad, then he took a ten minute nap on my lap, then I took him off my lap to put him down on the couch to continue his nap, and that's when he spit up. Looks clear like water, doesn't involve the massive stomach lurches and convulsions that come with a real vomit (like when he's carsick), but I'm just a little freaked that it happens so often. | Prince does that after gulping down water. I brought him a water bottle (the kind with the little ball and nozzle) but we are still working on that. I massage his throat after he drinks and that helps a lot. When I'm at work, he will throw up, a little. His vet thought the water bottle was a good idea, if he'll use it, also, he said to only keep small amounts of water in his dish, and refill as needed...that won't work for me because I work during the day and I don't want him to be without water.
