| Puppy has a cold I hope someone can give me some advice. Lexi appears to have something...don't know what. Maybe it's a cold but she doesn't sneeze. In 2 days she's gad one bout of diarrhea, threw up twice and today she has the chills. Is there anything I should be doing for her to make her more comfortable? |

| I would take her to the vet just to be on the safe side. The diarrhea could be somthing you are feeding her, anythign out of the ordinary?? Have you switched foods, treats??? Regarding the cold...they don't have to cough or sneeze for it to be a cold, my puppy would blow out...almost like a sneeze but more like a big "wiff" and his nose would be a little wet...I took him to the vet and he ended up having an upper respitory infection which is being treated by antibiotics. I would def. suggest the vet. Good luck and I hope she feels better. Hugs,

| As it turns out, shortly after I posted the question, Lexi started to drool alot and she got a little foamy. Then she vomited some very dark yellow fluid. We were on our way to the vet. Thankfully all tests were negative so the vet gave us an antibiotic, something to calm her stomach and some cans of food that she should be fed over the next few days. Thanks for responding - your advice was right on the money! |

| Yorkiesrule? Hi Yorkiesrule, I hate to bother you but did the vet tell you what Lexi had or what was causing her symptoms? Bentley is doing the same thing you described Lexi was doing and we haven't changed his food or been doing anything different. My husband thinks his nerves may be torn up because of the liter of pups Bitsy just had. We've been giving him extra special attention though. I think it's something else. He just isn't himself. Guess it's time for another vet vist.

| Try: http://b-naturals.com/product_info.p...8b7bca1b2aa049 The astralagus is a natural immune booster. You can get it from the childrens section in any health store. I like ecletic or rainbow light. Make sure it is glycerin based, and follow dosage instructions at the link. If you have time, get the one from the web site, as the dandelion is very good for clearing the liver, and the other items are also great for building the immune system. Don't forget- anytime antibiotics are given, follow with two weeks of probiotics to rebuild the flora to prevent other problems down the line. It will cure pnemonia in humans- it cured my daughters. | Help! Hi I am new to Yorkietalk.com..and I am having a similar problem with my yorkie. He has been vomiting and has diarrhea..He is almost 2 and we got him less than a month ago, we’ve tried changing his diet to make him eat but he will not eat. He might be home sick and stressed out. Is this anything I can give him to maintain his sugar level normal and prevent dehydration while I take him to the vet this week? Any imput will be appretiated... |

| My sixteen month old yorkie is doing this too. I started to take him to the vet on Wednesday because of it and he wouldn't eat either, but I read on here that plain white rice and plain boiled chicken was good for an upset stomach so I fixed that for him and he gobbled it up! He wouldn't touch his other food. I gave it to him again yesterday and he ate it and he's feeling better since he's eating the chicken and rice and he's more spunky but he's still got diareha and not 100% himself. I haven't seen him throw up since he's eating again but I'm not sure since I don't see him every second. I'm taking him to the vet this morning. I would try the chicken and rice (I got that advice on here ) and see if he eats it and take him to the vet as soon as you can.

| Folks, B vitamins & flax are wonderful for stress. Check out the link above and goto the easy does it formula, and the Bertes Immune blend. Bertes Zyme will help the digestive symptoms, as will the Immune Blend. Goto any health food store and get the doctor dopholis (sp) it is 1000's of probiotic organisms. Mix them into food. If they are having difficulty getting going, maybe try puppy milk from petco, and mix in the open capsule powder to rebuild the intestional flora. You can give the herbs as well at the same time, or directly into the mouth. Check out the http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...0307#post40307 and also try this. Best, deborah |
