| help with home cooking recipes!!! I've been trying to research diets for yorkies for a while. I am a little frustrated. I plan on doing homecooking with maybe a little bit of dry dog (natural food) and sometimes canned if I am traveling. I pickedup a bunch of recipes from books and such....but they dont' tell you how much to feed a 5lb dog! They just give you the recipe! This one does tell you how much to feed but this is what happened: I got the book from the Animal Advocate on what to feed a Yorkie. It took me 3 1/2 hours to prepare the meals for one week. I don't have that kind of time. And with the amount of ingredients, it was VERY expensive. Some ingredents: beets (I'm worried that it is going to get very messy because red is currently everywhere), rye bread (don't know if I really need this because there are so many other ingredents), cheddar cheese (I got the organic one...very expensive). Other ingredients are broccoli, potatos, green beans, hamburger, safflower oil, and barley. I don't mind these. They aren't too expensive and fast to prepare. So my questions are: Do I need the cheddar cheese, beets (I'm assuming they are for fiber), and rye bread? How much should you typically feed a yorkie (meat and veggies)? Any sample recipes out there?? suzie |
