| Turkey bad? Chicken ok? I supplement Reggie's diet with chicken baby food and decided to add turkey to give him some variety. However, I have recently read that you shouldn't give turkey to yorkies. Does anyone know what the difference is and what it does? I have been giving these go Reggie and I've noticed his poop is very dark and hard lately so I've been trying to figure out what was causing it. Can it be the turkey baby food? Help please! Ruth

| I have given Murphy turkey when we had it and he loved it - I hope it is not bad for him. I have not read that and I have a book on what Dogs and Puppies should not have and it is not in there!

| Update On Information Sources OK, just to clarify where I got my information from, here are the links: http://glassyorkies.homestead.com/care.html#anchor_42 http://yorkiecare.homestead.com/rules.html I read about yorkies constantly and I honestly don't know if some of the sources I find are reliable information. If I had only read it on one website, I probably wouldn't have paid attention, but I found in 2 different locations. Could someone check and verify whether I should be concerned or not? Thanks everyone! Ruth

| There is nothing wrong with turkey meat. What can be harmful to a dog is turkey SKIN as it has a very high fat content and long term use could cause pancreatis. Turkey meat by itself is low fat and is good for a dog same as a human. http://www.dogfoodproject.com/ http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer...u2dz343.app24b http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06057/661350-140.stm http://www.askvetadvice.com/ http://www.5stardog.com/dog-food.asp http://www.wisegeek.com/which-foods-...s-and-dogs.htm
