Concerned Neutured Male Yorkie Owner Hi all, I have poured through all the threads relating to male neuteres in search of others who may be experiencing the same thing as me. We just neutured Bailey about 3 weeks ago (maybe 4) at 5 months of age. The vet had told me that his one testicle had not dropped and so they had to go in higher to remove it. He said that it can cause cancer if it never dropped and was never neutered. However, the problem I am having is that he seems to be humping his toy even more and (I apologies for getting graphical) his pink thing gets so fully extended that it gets stuck and takes forever to go back in...sometimes it's so dry when it does go back in that it will invert the skin at the tip. I am really concerned that this can cause health issues. I figured he would stop humping once he was neutured. I hadn't read of anyone else mentioning this...please help!

Sometimes it takes a few months for the hormones to die down. Also some dogs (male & female) just seem to enjoy it. A friend of mine has a female Yorkie 2yrs old that cries to get in her playpen everyday at the same time just to hump her toy. When she's finished she cries to get out. It's so funny. I have a female that has her favorite humptoy that will growl at any other dog that goes near it. Don't know if this helped you or not. Sorry to run on so.

The humping is probably normal, but is it normal to them to get so aroused that their penis comes out far enough for a tie?

I'm not sure about that. My neutered dog was humping one of my females and the end of his got stuck outside. I know this is gross but my vet said spray sugar water on it. I couldn't bring myself to do that so I put a few drops of olive oil on it and after he cleaned off the oil, it was fine. He's been neutered for 4 years. Go figure.

humping isn't always a sign of sexual arousal. sometimes one dog is just exerting dominance over another (another dog, toy, etc) by humping. as for the other thing... i've no clue. bunjee's been neutered since 4 months old. i've never seen anything of the sort.
