Roxi has the same problem. I have been through many shampoos and now I use Honey Oatmeal Shampoo and conditioning spray by Royal Treatment. You can find it at Target.com or HSN and It smells great too. I love what it does for roxis hair and it is really growing well too, but that could be due to the salmon oil she gets too. I started a thread about the shampoo a cpl months ago, check it out!

Hobbs' hair is the same way....dry body, but oily head....I use head & shoulders shampoo on the whole body, and only put head & shoulders conditioner on his body (not his head). He has the prettiest coat now!!!! So shiny and head is not oily!!!!! You should try it, especially if his coat is so dry that he has dandruff, like Hobbs had before the Head & Shoulders! The vet recommended it, so I know it's safe.

I think it really depends on the dog....if the dog has really oily hair then once a week at the most. I have always heard that more than once a week would really dry their coat out! But, Hobbs has really dry hair, and he really doesn't need a bath every 7 days. We give Hobbs a bath probably every 7-10 days. We really don't "count" the days...we just judge by how he looks. If he looks nasty or smells dirty, then we give him a bath!

I use head & shoulders on my two as the breeder reccomended it.You just have to make sure you rinse it all off properly. I bath mine every 7-10 days but I just go by what they look and smell like. Sharon,Charley & Melody xxx
