Can I dog with "one" testical get another pregnant? Hiya, my Gizmo appears to have only one descended testicle at the time.. he is almost 9 months old...my Madeline is coming closer to her 6 month range and I am worried about Gizmo getting her pregnant, vet reccomended I wait at least til Gizmo is 1 yr to get him fixed (to see if the other one falls by alone) but I was wondering if he can still get her pregnant... he tries to hump her but she won't let herself...... I am hoping & praying that he cannot since I don't want them to have puppies but I thought I would educate myself first before assuming ...thanks guys!

I Love Thor Donating Member | A man with one testicle and get someone pregnant. I am almost sure that he can to. If that sucker has sperm in it...Those bad boys will get the job done. Shesh! Those men.... So I would keep them separated while she is in heat. |

Yes he can produce offspring. Although it is not recommended because his problem could possibly be passed down in his line. Did you contact who ever you got him from about this problem?

no I have not..... she didn't offer a health guarantee and since I was not planning on breeding him that was fine by me, regardless of what he had I would make sure he recieved the proper medical attention.. however I wanted to get a good answer to this question... so is it possible for maddy to come into heat at 5 months?

You should let the breeder know about his condition as she/he should know what is happening in their breeding lines. I would keep them separated as well, it is VERY important that she does not get pregnant at such a young age, she is still just a baby herself. All the best!

I don't understand your vet's reasoning for waiting on this male to drop the other testicle. It's totally uneccessary. All that is different is that he goes into the abdomen to collect the testicle on that side. No big deal at all. All he's doing is allowing the hormones to get into the dog's system which could start a marking problem There is absolutely no reason that he can not immediately neuter that guy for you. He is getting way too many stud dog tendencies now with the humping. He's already frustrated and delaying is not right for him. Good luck.

Each dog is different. Mollie came into heat for the first time at 9 1/2 months. I would say it can range anywhere from 6 - 18 months of age. Just my opinion.
