| Zoey's Vet Visit (Hair breakage) I just got back from Zoey's vet visit today. I was relieved that it wasn't anything serious. It was something called "Puppy Pyoderma." Basically, it's a bacterial infection that isn't uncommon with puppies Zoey's age. They said it causes itching and scratching and can even cause vaginitis in female pups. While we were waiting in the vet's office, I found a tiny scab on her forehead and a pimply type bump under her collar while we were waiting and the vet said they were another symptom. As she examined Zoey she found a few more in the thickest part of her fur, one on her tummy and even one down in her ear! Strangest thing is, they weren't there yesterday, but today she has several! Anyway, it's treated with antibiotics and is definately the culprit behind the hair loss. I'm glad it was nothing more serious! Now....I need to make a phone call to the vet who said, "It's growing back so don't worry about it!" |

| Zoey's Mom ... that's great news! If I were you I would switch to the vet you saw today ... sounds like he is more knowledgeable. I would rather they tell me that they don't know, but will find out than tell me what you got from that first vet! Hope it clears up soon with the medication and little Zoey won't have any more problems!!

| Good news for Zoey! Yes, stick to this vet, as they seem to know what's up at least! Antibiotics did the trick for my Yoda a few times for itchiness too! |
