| Update- Worms??? Well I just got the phone call from the vet over Bear's test results. I'm not sure what to think, he said that he wants to me with me tomorrow afternoon to discuss them. He said for the most part the results were normal but with a couple to be concerned about. He thinks that there is something wrong with Bear's kidneys and wants to rerun the test. I'm not sure what that means or if Bear will be ok. |

| Thanks Patti, it is very hard waiting till tomorrow to find out more. I spent the morning crying, praying that he will be alright and that his kidney's are not failing. He is too special and does not deserve to be sick. |

| Thank you to those who care about my Bear, it means so much. Your prayers are whats keeping me going, and Bear's kisses of course. He seems like such a little fighter, it does not seem possible that he has kidney problems. He is just his usual happy self and thats got to mean something. Thank you! |

| I just got on and read this and I am sending you all the positive vibes I can muster. We will all keep our fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed that there was a screw up in the tests. This sucks and I hate when these little ones have problems or potential problems..I will be thinking of you tomorrow.

| How did it go today? What kind of dog food do you feed your kid? Is it high in protein? Like above 30-35%? Just curious as that can sometimes skew test results.. |

Bear is eating Innova, the crude protein is 26%. Thank you everyone for your prayers I think they are working. He does have some abnormal test results such as his red blood cell count, BUN, creatinine and some others but they are just slightly out of normal range, He also is showing some crystals in his urine. At this point the vet is wondering why the levels are off and feels we need to re-test in a months time to see where they sit then, he is worried about a kidney problem (more from his experience in seeing several yorkies in our region that have kidney problems, not really Bear's results) but hopefully in a months time we will have normal test results. The vet also said at this time he thinks the kidneys are working well as the urine protein was negative. No worms showed up in his stool but the vet dewormed him anyway today as he says some worms might not show up in the results. We are putting him on canned food as well as his dry to try to raise his weight to normal. The vet seems to think he looks and acts like a normal happy healthy puppy, just is under weight. Bear also went from 1.25kg to 1.35kg in just two days which the vet was very excited about. I will be take Bear in every week to have his weight monitored, dewormed again in two weeks. Thank you all, overall I think this is good news. | |
