| Yorkie Farts - Innova vs Royal Canin 33 Oscar says hands down, Royal Canin 33! I got a bag of Innova to mix with his Royal Canin 33 and that little bugger eats the Royal Canin 33 and spits the Innova back out on the floor! He refuses to eat it. I got some sample bags of Evo and he would not touch that either. So I guess we will have to stick with the Royal Canin 33. I tried to switch due to Oscar's excessive gas! It is killing us...thought getting him off corn would help, but he just won't switch! He loves the Royal Canin 33 so I guess I should be happy he will eat a dry food so well and just get on with it. It is a good thing this pet store will take it back too...they said if he would not eat it, to just bring it back and we could swap it for the Royal Canin 33...Stinky Poo Yorkie Farts...they are just the worst!!! LOL Anybody else have a gas issue with the Royal Canin 33 or any other food?

I put half and half but by the time they eat half a bowel of Merricks I have filled the other half up 3 times with Royal Canin. I think I'm going to end up leaving them on Royal Canin after their bag of Merricks is done just because they love Royal Canin so much.

| Abbie loved the taste of royal canin but she was unable to tolerate it after a while(she started getting diarrhea from it, not gas). My vet said to try a food that has lamb as it's primary ingredient because it's milder for the stomach than chicken. So I bought California Natural Lamb Meal and Rice (dry)--it only has a few ingredients in it. She loves it. Even my finicky Max loves it. When I mixed california nautural with the royal canin to get rid of it, he spit out the royal canin. It was funny to hear the little pieces of kibble hitting the bottom of his food bowl as he spit them out. |

| Nope Tigger doesn't get gas from Royal Canine. Do your dogs get treats? If so Wheat Flour is known to give dogs gas. If it's within the first three ingrediants that would be my best bet.

| I will have to check the ingredients as I have thrown away the packages his treats came in. He gets Iams dog bones and an Organic treat I got at Petco. Plus he gets his Flossie. It could very well be his treats that are causing his gas problem tho.

| When I was switching to Innova.. my dogs didn't like it either.. they would pick out the other food instead of eating the Innova.. but i didn't just give up. Innova/Innova EVO is one of the highest quality foods out there.. you should try wetting the food or putting less of the royal canin.. my dogs wouldn't starve themselves.. and they ended up Loving Innova/Innova EVO they've been on it for over a year now and i'm happy with the results. |

| Bailey is currently on RC and we don't have a gas attack problem with him. I did recently start adding Merrick's wet to his RC and he LOVES it. Hmmmmmmmm the possibilities???

| Royal Canin and gas Mayzie is on Royal Canin as well--mini puppy 33. She loves it. She does not have a gas problem. In fact I have never smelled or heard her fart--I just assumed it was because she is a princess.... Anyway, someone on here and I am sorry I don't remember who said giving cottage cheese a few times a week would stop/help the gas. Mayzie loves cottage cheese. So whether that is why she doesn't have gas or she just tolerates the food is beyond me. I thought it was good advice and seemed healthy enough and works well for us. |

| Thanks Guys!!! I guess Oscar is just a stinky little fart then! LOL But he IS a boy!!! I will try the cottage cheese and see if that helps and make sure his treats don't contain wheat flour. I don't really notice them in the house but when he has us captive in the truck going down the road...OMG!!! He will kill you and we can't get away!!!
