| Really Scared! I took Romeo to the vet at nine o'clock this morning for his last round of booster shots and his first rabies shot. He took a nap when we got home and he was crying when he woke up.... I went in to check on him and he was rubbing his face into the ground.. When he looked up his little eyes were swollen shut and his muzzle was three times normal size. I rushed him back to the vet and they said he was having a reaction and made me leave him there......I dont know what to do or how serious this is, but I am beside myself.....has anyone else evey experienced this?? Please help...I'm a hysterical mommy......Is he going to be okay? |

| Oh my! I think he will be okay. They will probably gve him adrenaline to counteract the reaction to the shots. Is your vet a good one for small breeds? Let us know what happens! |

| Thank goodness I haven't had this happen yet but I keep waiting for it to happen. I've read where other yorkies have had a reaction to their shot so hopefully Romeo will be fine soon. I wonder what makes them have reactions like that??? I am thinking of you and Romeo and hope your baby is back to his old self soon.

| I am sure he will be okay. This is what they tell you to watch for. I had Hefner at the vet yesterday for a booster and he wouldn't let them give him an injection, so he got the nasal spray. I thought that was interesting. I am surprised they gave your baby so many immunizations in one day especially with the rabies which is really strong. How big is he? Maybe it's just that mine are so tiny and that's different. I will see what I can find on the internet. Don't worry. You did the right thing and the vet will know what to do. He will be fine. |

| I am so sorry. Our breeder told us to not get Sophie the rabies shot because she would have a reaction to it. I hope he is o.k. I'm sure he will be. This must be somewhat common for these little dogs. Oh, and don't hesitate to call or just go back to the vet. That is your baby and you have every right to check up. Please keep us posted.

| Romeo's Mommy: My heart goes out to you!! Try to think positive: if anything was to go wrong, he is in the perfect spot with everything important and necessary to get him better ASAP -- all right there!!! I know it is hard not to worry, and I would worry, too -- but be strong. ...and CALL the VET!! Who cares what he thinks? If anything, he will think "Boy, she is a really good, caring mom to be so worried!" Its YOUR dog -- and ROMEO's health -- never to be compromised!! Good luck, and I'll say a little prayer

I am sure everything will be okay though, I can definetley understand you being so anxious to call, if it were me I would call and just check on him now if you want, after all he is your baby and who cares what they think, you are very concerned and im sure they would understand you calling as much as you want, im sure you wouldnt be the first pet owner to do that!! If it makes you feel better than call!! Let us know how he is doing!! my thoughts are with you!
