| Food & treats question Hi everyone, Buddy is 14 wks & on zithromax for kennel cough. He's a great "vacuum cleaner" but a lousy eater (my floors are constantly being swept/vacummed now so Buddy can't find anything!). Looking over other posts, I see he might be holding out for human food (chicken). He's never liked any of the dry puppy food (ProPac or Eukanuba) nor any moist (Pedigree, which I see isn't good for him anyhow) and isn't too fond of any treats (Alpo Snaps, Milk Bone Chewy treats, sometimes tolerates Canine Chewies) - he mostly just throws them up in the air and plays with them LOL. At any rate, would you mind posting the types of food and treats your puppies DO like? I know to avoid greenies and that list of canned foods, but Buddy really needs to eat right now bc antibiotics without food = tummyache! We've also noticed his stools are getting a bit harder to pass - too much protein maybe? Thanks in advance for your input You guys are great! Cheryl |

| I think finding the right food for each individual Yorkie is a trail and error process. My little guy is a very finicky and picky eater. He started out eating Royal Canin really well, but now he doesn't like it, so we are still in the process of buying food and seeing what he likes. (I have even asked at PetsMart if they had samples, but they don't and said that you can always bring the food back). There was a post on this recently so maybe you can do a search on "what do you feed your dog" or "what treats do you give", etc. I know Mojo loves the Pupcorn treats (they come in different flavors) and the ice cream treats. We give NutriCal when he isn't eating well and sometimes a little rice or chicken broth or boiled chicken. - this isn't often, just when he is not eating because he is sick...otherwise, he never gets human food. Good luck!

| I feed mine royal canin puppy (dry) and nutro lamb & rice puppy (can) for treats i am stingy and i will cut her pieces of tiny t bonz. the reason i am stingy is that i have heard that because yorkies are tiny you need to be careful on how many treats you give them because you don't want that to be the who nutritonal intake for the day. hope this helps!

| Try INNOVA...Talyor loves it. She'll choose it over soft food...even baby food chicken. It's really healthy. I orginally bought Eukanuba and switched once I researched more about it. I don't think it's worth what it costs. Innova is expensive but at least I know its really recommended. |

| I use moist i/d Physician's Diet. . .although Cash is a food hog, Jewel is very picky and she practically inhaled it when I mixed it with her Eukenuba hard food. Treats have been an issue for Jewel as well, but she loves apples (peeled and cut in tiny chunks) and I am going to experiment with carrots next. I also have a can of freeze dried Pro-Treat. They recommended it to me and I haven't tried them yet. Good Luck. |
