| yorkie itch My pup has been straching a lot the past 8 weeks. I have read in back posts to change her food and grooming products. We have done this and she still seems itchy! I noticed tonight when I was bathing her, the skin between her shoulder blades is a dark pink. It looks rather irritated. Any suggestions? |

| No, I haven't yet. Whenever we have a Nomi problem, I search the posts or try and get yorkie talk advice first and if nothing works, we preceed to the vet. I don't post often, but I use Yorkie talk as a reference. It has been a great reference for me and used often since we have gotten Nomi in June. |

| Yes they can. But sometimes you can tell from effects or symptoms.

| She does sound allergic. Also, are you rinsing her extremely well when bathing? Any shampoo residue could cause her alot of itching.

| Hmmm, same situation for my Spikey. He itches alot on his chest and underarms. I've used a soothing shampoo made for dogs but that's temporary.

| Food? What are you feeding your baby? Dog food products? Treats? Human food?

| well she was eating royal canine. We changed her to biljac. She really doesn't do human food (well, except for the ocassional piece of bacon, or chip - she's my instant kitchen vacum cleaner) We've changed her shampoo and conditioner. I try and rise her several times with clean water. I think the redness is from her scratching. When she woke up this morning, I didn't see it anymore, but by lunch time it was there again. Any suggestions? |

| Bacon Alot of Furbabies are allergic to Pork so the bacon is probably not good for her. Maybe she has a grain allergy, Mason does. I have to feed him Evo ONLY. He gets bully sticks for chews and that is it..He doesnt get any treats with grains or flour nothing in em. Once in awhile I give him dried pieces of Lamb lung or lamb liver.

| Please Be Careful Please take your yorkies itching seriously and go to the vet for tests. There are so many potential causes, some not always visible to the eye including fleas, scabies, mites, allergies, illness and more. If your dog continues to itch this can result in secondary infection which can be extremely serious not to mention costly. If, after your vet has ruled out many causes, your baby is still itching, you can try pure tea tree oil on spot problems or mixed in their shampoo (let suds sit for 15 minutes and do NOT use internally nor allow the dog to lick the oil) Good luck. |
