| You should weigh by the month not the week. What you want is a slow loss of weight, not fast. What ever you are feeding weigh after one month not a week of two. If you see no loss after a month then make your adjustments.

Thank you Matese. I will try that because the little fluctuations in his weight are stressing me out.

We replaced about1/4 of our two yorkies 1/4 c of regular kibble with green beans, chopped cauliflower or broccoli. They are fed twice a day. They lost about 2 1/2 ounces in a month. The cauliflower was a real hit with them. Then we used frozen small pieces of cauliflower for treats. We needed treats to encourage the dogs to do their PT exercises three times a day. They are now down a little over 5 ounces in two months to 7 pounds 10 ounces. Don’t know if this might work for your puppy. Our PT said to think of an ounce as a pound. That made me feel better. I was disappointed because we still don’t have waists. Gew

dogs are not like humans where they can loose weight fast like humans do. It took me 8 months to get 2 pounds of my boy, a slow process but necessary. He's a big boy now back to his 12 pounds. I substituted 1/4 cup kibble for 1/4 cup frozen cut green bean, he LOVES his green beans lol.

Weigh in was last night - 11 pounds 0.5 ounces!!!!! He looks thinner too!!! I am so proud of him. He is eating 1/4 cup of weight management Fromm with 1 tablespoon of Honest Kitchen as his topper. In the morning I skip the topper altogether. He has also been walking more, and playing with toys more. Our biggest issue with his exercise is the road is cement, and one of his paw pads is roughed up. I put musher's secret on it, but I think it needs a rest before we walk much again.

Our road is macadam and pretty beat up after this winter. My two yorkies wear boots with rubber soles when we go for a walk twice a day. They even wear boots in the summer because the macadam gets so hot. Mine love to walk and meet and greet the world. Me,too. Gew

Gew - where did you get them? I really need something like that for Tasey. I am also ordering him a bike trailer. I am looking one that is a stroller, trailer combination. He starts his training class the week of April 16th. I am hoping he will find an activity he enjoys.
