The old method of treating pancreatitis was to withhold food .. but that actually has changed. My HUGE concern right now though is that he could be dehydrated and now the vet says no food??? When they said that in the past it was not after a pup had been sick for as many days as yours. I would personally be very uncomfortable doing it now without supplementing the pup with IV fluids and medications to help control these symptoms.

| Vet said it would slow his gut down. I started him back on a little water after 8 hours. I’m like you and never heard of no water if not vomiting. He was the vet on call. He’s feeling better tonight. For some reason the morning is his worse time. I am also giving him kaopectate for diarrhea which the vet said was ok. I will see what morning brings When he had his first spell a couple mos ago the took him off food for 24 hours to slow the gut down. If he’s no better by morning I will take him in. |
