| The issue with feeding the cooked meat and eggs is if it makes up more then 10% of their actual daily food intake then it needs to be a recipe from a vet nutritionist and be balanced with a supplement or it could cause A LOT of harm especially with growing puppies.

The breeder will be sending me home with a feeding plan and diet instructions. I don't know if supplements are included in the instructions or not. She is a 3rd generation breeder so I trust that she knows what she's talking about. Interestingly, the breeder doesn't believe that raw meat is best for a dog due to bacteria and parasites. | |

| This might seem like a foolish question...if a raw meat diet is potentially hazardous for a dog, why do so many vet nutritionists and dog owners swear by the raw food diet? Last edited by 2018YorkieMama; 08-09-2017 at 12:40 PM. |

| Very few dog nutritionist recommend it and lots and lots of vets are against it. Therapy dogs can't eat raw and be therapy dogs. It can be very hazardous. Many of the big vet groups are also against it.

| Royal Canin on first impressions seems like a smart choice, but upon reading the labels ingredients I believe its mostly meat by-product which isn't so good. I got fooled too and almost bought it since they had products specifically for Yorkshire Terriers. Wellness is a very good holistic brand. My puppy currently eats the puppy treats by Wellness. That company was also spoken very highly of by my vet. Personally I feed my puppy Blue Buffalo Wilderness Puppy dry dog food. She's been on it for 3 months now and has had great progress developmentally. |

Royal Canin is a highly reputable company and I would feed their food before feeding most of the "holistic" foods from companies who spend more money advertising "ingredients' over providing good quality control for the foods they sell. We each must make decisions we feel is best for our pups. I mainly use Hill's Science Diet foods...and use RX foods from Hill's and Purina and I have many pups who are seniors who have lived long lives in spite of having some pretty bad conditions...some congenital..

| Everyone is quick to judge and boast about which foods are best, especially when their "best" is what they feed their pups. There's unfavorable readings on ALL those brands of food, be it on nutrition analysis, ingredient sourcing, ect... It's up to each owner to decide what they feel comfortable feeding their dogs. |

| I'm now starting to see why users are complaining of their negative experiences. I'm new to this community and honestly all I've experienced thus far are badgering and heavy bias from forum members. Yeesh. Welcome to the community. I'm out. |
