Donating Yorkie Yakker | What food for baby with fewer teeth? My little Gabby is 8 yrs old. She was doing fine on her kibble - Eukanuba for small breed-puppy--she has eaten that since before I got her from her breeder. My problem-she has lost teeth, so to make it easier for her, I tried soft food- Ceaser...which she loves but she has trouble with her bowels now-looser and the "gel" in the food comes out making a mess too. I've tried removing the gel before giving it to her, and mixing it with her kibble ground up. Still the same problem. A couple days ago I only gave her the whole kibble in her dish/ and ground up too was attempted and she didn't eat that day until I gave in at night and gave her the wet/dry mix. Now this morning I had another mess to clean up and I can hear her belly growling. I'd love advice as to what I can give her? |

| Ceaser is kinda junk food of the doggy world so no wonder she likes it . You can try soaking her dry food in hot water for a few minutes and then drain it give it to her if you think she is having issues chewing.

| Of course I am not a vet..... but Cesar is not considered to be very good quality food. Eukanuba is a pretty fair food. I know a lot of folks who feed canned food like Weruva brand. I'm sure other will come forth with their thoughts. I feed my dog Fromm and wet it down to soft texture after her dentals. Good luck.

| Use the dry you have good results with and just soak it, but still offer the dry in a separate bowl that's left out all the time. |

Donating Yorkie Yakker | Thanks! So far, using warm water has helped. She's eaten her dry kibble with it 3 times-small amounts. This morning's stool was still wet but had form to it-(sorry) so maybe we are on our way, appreciate the help! |

| Sophie has a few dental issues going on but isn't clear for anesthetic so we can't have them fixed. We found that she hated canned food as her main diet but loved the dry food she was eating - but it hurt her teeth too much. So we bought a cheap coffee grinder and every morning we grind her daily amount of dry food into almost a powder. She eats 4x a day so then we just add a spoonful of the powder to her bowl, a tiny bit of wet food (only the first meal of the day) and then add some warm water and mix it all up. It turns into a mush, sort of like the consistency of mashed potatoes...but she loves it. It works well for her so far and only take about 30 seconds each morning to grind it up. I've even done a few days at a time before and stored it in the freezer. |
