Senior Yorkie Talker | Does this require a prescription? Never ever had fleas... the whole two years since puppyhood! Our groomer found one on my males face and several on my females tummy.... sigh

| I use Nexgard in the warmer months. We are trying a new one though called Simparica, similar to Nexgard, so can't tell you how well it works yet. Prior, we used K9 Advantix topical with good luck. I just hate topicals so switched over to oral medication.

| We use activyl ,a topical. It is amazing! Available from my vet but I buy it in large size vials online and use a little plunger to treat each dog with the required amount. Very reasonable this way. My little one cannot handle the pills, very sensitive digestion. |

| That might kill the fleas but is not a preventive.

| I have used Frontline / frontline plus since it first hit the shelves (20 plus years) and always had good results. This past July my vet started us with Simparica, I only used it 5 months no fleas / ticks, it's a chewable. I can't say if it's better then the frontline plus as my dogs were always flea and tick free when on the frontline and I live in a very heavily wooded area with lots of wild animals and feral cats.
