| Wet Food Portion Boomer is not liking the dry prescription food he is on. So I decided to grind it up add chicken stock for moisture and make it wet food. He seems to like that a lot better. (this is much cheaper than buying the canned prescription food) My question is how much should I be giving him since it is wet? He has always been on dry food and I give him 1/4 - 1/3 cups per serving. Should I give the same amount in wet food?

| I give my Yorkies 2 thirds kibble and 1 third wet food. I use the recommended amounts on the packets/cans - 2 thirds of 1 daily recommended amount kibble and 1 third of a daily recommended amount of wet food and just mix them up. I don't add anything else except a sprinkling of Plaque Off for their teeth. You can adjust this how you like, perhaps 50/50 of kibble/wet food. I don't like giving them either one or the other. I always measure the food out and increase or decrease if need be and try to keep them at a good weight, certainly not fat or thin especially since one of them has a heart problem. |

| I would probably give the same amount of prescription dry food as you normally are giving Boomer then add the chicken stock after you have measured the dry food out. I would also ask my vet about the chicken stock to make sure it's good to give him especially since he is on prescription food. |

| Hi, Since he is on a prescription food the best bet is to check with your vet to make sure the food will still be doing what it was prescribed for with the changes you are making. If in doubt that is the best place to go I feel. They can help you with this problem I am sure.

| It if is still the same kibble and you are moistening it, he would require the same amount. If you are giving canned food, then the amount would be different. The way I read your post is the food is exactly the same except you are putting broth in it.
