| Cat Food I am visiting a friend with cats. She has a bowl of Meow Mix original out for her cats and I have my 5lb yorkie's bowl of kibble in a separate place. I cannot keep her out of the cat food. She loves it! I have now moved the cat food. Will this hurt Heidi (my yorkie) in any way? |

| It's no good long term and could cause diarrhea now, but otherwise, she should be fine.

| Dogs seem to love cat food but most of it is higher in fat than dog food. Yorkies have a tendency toward pancreatitis and shouldn't eat fatty foods. I would keep her away from the cat food.

| I seem to believe it causes urinary tract infections but I suppose now that I am stating it I can't tell you why...I feel like it has something to do with the High level of protein but perhaps my belief is unfounded? Hmmm...

| I agree with Kairapup 100%, maybe some diarrhea, or gas? How did she do after all? It isn't higher in fat or protein (I guess it depends on what you feed now?) Meow mix is like McDonalds, it is garbage, even when it becomes cat poop. Read the ingredients some time. I swear that is the kind of food that is not properly digested, and makes dogs want to eat it as poo. Ack! I would definitely keep it away from your dog like you did. When I fed cats kibble I fed them on top of the washer, because they did love it. I sometimes actually use cat kibble as training treats. I use stinky fish stuff, but it is a little better brand. |

| Max is raising his paw to add this. Hi I'm Max a 6 month old yorkie that also loves my sister cats food. I ate to much Wednesday night and have had diarrhea and gas ever since. You would think I learned my lesson but it tastes soooo good! Mom said she's putting up the kitty food so no more snacking. Mom also says one piece cat Kibble is a treat but a handful is a snack. Treats are ok but not snacking! The end Love Max |

| Lexi too loves her brothers (kitty) food. They both eat Royal Canin...The kitty has his own room so I just block his door with a box and Lexi can't get in; as she can't jump

| Cat food tends to be higher in taurine, so not good long term but okay as on the odd occasion so long as it doesn't upset the tummy with the sudden change in food. |

| My vet told me never to allow my dogs to eat cat food. Sometimes one of mine would gobble up cat food and the day after she would have a bad tummy problem. |
