| whelps on tummy area My yorkie is 2 and all of a sudden she broke out with whelps all over her upper stomach area. Took her to the vet and they gave her a steroid shot. Next day no improvement, so brought her back and another shot. No improvement and to me I feel she got worse actually. I brought her today and they are giving her fluids and doing blood work and a few other tests. I am hoping for the best. So sad that your little furrballs can get sick so quickly. They thought she ate something Toxic. She is totally red all over her body, however no fever but she did start vomiting and her poop was bloody. No time to waste. Let me hear from anyone with a similiar situation. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Sounds like an allergic reaction of some sort....does she have access to Sago Palms at all...? Mulch? What is her liver doing right now - how are those levels? And kidney? Test those right away! Was she outside when this happened?

| whelps on tummy I had her in vet yesterday for the 3rd time and her blood work was good. Liver off just a bit he said which is not unusual since her body is fighting whatever she ingested. She was hooked up to IV for a few hours. Her breathing is alittle labored this morning. It is a sunday, but I will bring her in the morning to her vet. He is stumped. Whatever she ate was on the road when we walked 5 days ago. Yes we have sago palms but I do not see the seeds from them. I have meds for her today however she is not eating. I will update you later. |

| whelps on tummy Sorry I am so late getting back with the good news that after two hook ups with IV and fluids she finally got better. I was worried since she is so young and we still cannot figure out what happened in her case. thank you for your concern. |

| whelps all over on my little yorkie again! Went to vet again for the 3rd time since my 3 yr old yorkie had whelps all over again. I would have to go to a dermatoligists to determine what she is allergic to! Wondering if anyone has had problems with the Raw Treats called Dentley's Bully springs? Made is Mexico. |

| I saw a post about something like this recently on Facebook. It was caused by black flies. If you google : dog black fly bites and then click images you can see photos and compare to what your pup has. Maybe it is that?
