| Puppy won't eat his dog food?! Hi all! New to the community here this is my first puppy ever and it's been proving to be a lot more difficult than i've anticipated. I got Charlie (5 mo.) from his previous owner who was only feeding him Caesars wet food -- after I looked into it and realized it's the McDonalds version of dog food I decided to switch him to Bill Jac. He wouldn't eat the kibble and we've tried everything. IE: crushing the kibble, mixing with water, heating it up, and now we've resorted to mixing in chicken, but he'll only eat the chicken and minimal amounts of the dog food. I'm afraid he's not getting enough nutrients even though his weight is healthy. I live with my parents so my mother when she sees he's not eating will give him table food (she flips out). and I'm not sure if charlie has just learned the if he doesn't eat for a period of time she'll give in and give him what he wants or if he really doesn't like hs dog food. I've tried other kibble brands and he won't even touch those either. I'm just lost as to what to do at this point -- should i switch to making him homemade food???.. and it scares me that he is only eating once a day. Any advice will help! thank you all! |

| I had the same problem with Cookie. What it worked for me was mixing her kibble with hot water and leave it until it looks like wet food, mixing it with the Caesar food she was used to and reducing the amount of it slowly until she is eating kibble only. Now I use the dry kibble mix with raw organic food from my kitchen and she love it. |
