| Happened again. Chewie on schedule woke us up, pooped in her pen husband said. Only. I went to thoroughly clean it out, as she spent the rest of the night in her bed by our bed- not the crate. Yes. A bit of vomit. She hadn't had a lot to eat, though, either. She had around 1/4 a cup of Fromms 6 hours before, and then she had these Whole foods cheddar cheese grain free cookies- a handful around 1 hour before bed. It wasn't like it was last time with bile. As a matter of fact I could swear that those cookies were all I saw.. and now she has more mucous in her stool. A lot. She's not acting like she was last time, and I'm at a loss. I suspected the cookies, but this is a sudden reaction. I'm going to feed her her morning meal and see if she does it again. I really am out of ideas. Second time in a week. |

| Yeah, no, this is different. Back to the vet right now. This is NOT food allergies. No way. she keeps throwing up. I really hope people have ideas. |

| I'm waiting until 3pm but if any one has ANY ideas why this continues to happen, I'm all ears. I thought stress... but... no. she wasn't stressed this time. This allergy is sudden, becuse she's had these cookies for a month. If this is it. She's been able to keep down, finally, some I/d food and broth. I'm purposely not giving her the leftover anti-nausea meds. She's not as tired as she WAS but she's not interested in coming to see me up here, either. |

| Uh- I just got off the phone with Castor and Pollux. I've spent 2 hours researching these treats, and a lot of dogs are coming down with similar symptoms- matter of fact, although I didn't buy them on amazon, but rather a natural pet food store, it turns out that some lady has had the exact same thing happen with her dog- and her dog gets organic, from scratch, cooked just so food. That was the one that really stood out. Same thing, stool change, not a lot to make a fuss over, then some throwing up- a bit- and then what hit Chewie. Thank you, I'm bringing it by the vet to let them know, but more, i called Castor and Pollux, verified that they sold out to Purina, and they are pulling the treats for quality control check. I'll let you know how the vet went, of course. |

| My thought may have been correct according to the vet- food allergies. we're yanking everything and putting her right back on her bland diet. Back on Flagyl for 10 days to kill anything that might be in her intestines- swelling or the like. She's not having problems every day, it's just this week we saw a huge uprise in her vomit and soft poop bouts. Last week was particularly scary, this week I'm trying to deal with this and trust the vet; lots of mucous in the stool as well, so she's pretty sure we're dealing with a nasty food allergy/reaction |

| Poor Chewie! My Teddy's digestive system is sensitive. We keep his diet very simple. The boys eat Fromm and we supplement/treat with a very limited number of fresh foods. Any deviations give Teddy gas and diarrhea.

| Same thing here. Any change in diet is a disaster. These little ones can be super sensitive. |

| Lilah has had a couple of 'episodes' over the years. She seems more tolerant than ever these days and is really interested in different foods without having any negative reactions?!? Mind blown. We have been to the vet with gastroenteritis one time and since then we have been able to calm down the flare before it got too serious- thank fully- by recognizing signs early and switching to boiled chicken and rice with steamed peas and carrots. We start with just chicken and rice and give frequent very small meals. Theb we add the veggies- which she loves and after a few days start adding back in her wet food- her serving is a TBSP or less anyway so we just start small and work up to that mixed in with her chicken and rice. Then put the dry food back down and decreasing the chicken and rice til we are back on our normal diet of wet and dry. Count pees, watch poops, count any throw ups, monitor fluid intake. That has worked well for us. I am sorry your baby is so sick, that is such a scary thing. Watch for dehydration.

Poor Teddy!! Watching chewie deal with this makes me just cringe for him, too. And they want to have treats also. It's kinda hard to say I know you WERE eating this and loved it but can't have it. | |

| Just saw this thread, so sorry Chewie is sick again! Go back to square one to get her balanced and forget about the other treats. . . Unless you make and bake them yourself so you know what is in them. Btw Fromm does sell treats. My groomer gave their little treats at Christmas If you find a terrific recipe for doggie biscuits please share. I hesitate to buy new things unless I READ the complete ingredients list and then I squint at it......the least amount of ingredients the better I think. Keep us updated on how she is doing.

Like Alyssa commented above about Lilah, I thought Teddy was growing more tolerant with age. When he was a puppy, a tiny piece of egg gave him tummy problems. He is 7 now and can have a little, but I recently gave him a little more than usual -- which resulted in diarrhea. Just one episode, but it reminded me not to mess around with food with him. Like Lilah, Teddy's system recovers with chicken and rice, but I always worry about pancreatitis and other things.
