| Need some suggestions Chewie learned some things from the other dogs, and I'm happy about it. I know that I'm not to exercise her right after eating, however, this morning, she barked and carried on, did a leap off the two bottom stairs, ran around with the zoomies... gave me the ball and I threw it twice. This is new. Her energy is new, too. The milk thistle is helping a lot. She also is now drinking more at a shot. Before, the bowl would disappear over 24 hours- a tiny one. now she'll down half of it at once. I know she's older. She's so little that I need to speak to the vet about maybe putting a bit of weight on her. I don't want her to feel discouraged about playing, and this behavior is brand new. Any suggestions? I was thinking about a nice walk around the complex to see it if would help. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I truly think walking is the best thing for dogs -- they get exercise, stimulation, socialization, and high quality fun time with you. Plus, they get to smell every little dang thing along the way which it total dog FUN.

| Max has always liked to play right after eating and has never had a problem. Teddy prefers to lie down for a little bit. The only thing I would caution you about with walking right after a meal is heat. When Max was a pup, I once took him on a walk too soon after eating dinner. Although it was early evening, we were still hot and humid. He lost his dinner on the pavement.

lol, I just posted to you on the spay. Hubby took her on a walk after I made this post, and it was much later, after her snack before bed. Yes, she made her feelings QUITE clear on the matter. She laid right down on the grass and glared at him. Then hid behind me when he took her home. I can't help but laugh. Walks are in the mall in the mornings until summer is over. | |

| I'm on my way to a different hotel until a/c gets fixed (my insurance through mortgage is doing everything to stall) so I really need to go, but, I wanted to say, lol, right?!!! It's super cute and kind of nerve wracking with their propensity to bottom feed. |

| I never thought much about it, but I've always fed mine after our potty walks - i.e. the morning potty and the after work potty. I'd just feel bad to make them hold their potty to eat first before going outside. Plus, the walk works them up for an appetite, I think. Usually after they eat, they rest and nap - i.e. after they eat breakfast, I leave them and go to work so they nap for a while; after they eat dinner, all of us nap because I'm so tired from after work
