| JR Enterprises Ivermectin heartworm meds Who uses this? I learned about this heart worm med on her and ordered it. I went to the vet today because I haven't taken him for a check up since I got him. He got tested for heartworm and they reccomended heart gard for him I told them I had gotten this medication and they said it's sketchy because you need a prescription and the only time they have given a dog straight Ivermectin is when they have mingies pr something like that which is a skin type mite or something idk. I trust you guys on here and don't think anyone is scamming anyone on here but I just want to make sure. So have any of you ordered this stuff from that website and had any issues?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think the vet meant "mange" / demodex. I believe YorkieMom1 uses this product, doesn't she...? You can get Heartguard, Heartguard+, Interceptor etc from Australia w/out a prescription, btw.

| I have used this....no problem. Vets will try to talk you out of using anything they dont sell. Many, many large scale kennels/animal rescue/etc, where there are a number of dogs, use this because it is so cost effective for those establishments. I use this because it is so effective for heartworms and it is cost effective for me and the dogs I have. THAT being said, I am having an absolutely terrible time with FLEAS.....ever since that last flood we had, my yard is eaten up with fleas.....I have NEVER had an issue with fleas like I have had the last 4 months! I am using Frontline Flea spray....I think I am feeding the fleas with this stuff....it is NOT working for me! I just ordered some heartworm/flea/worm combination med from Australia, and they get their first dose this weekend. It will take a couple of months to see if I have made a good move doing this......but I will let you all know. If anyone wants to try it now, it is called "HFT EZYBONES".....for heartworms/fleas/tapeworms......the active med is Ivermectin for the heartworms..... The little "bones" are about 1 inch long.....each "bone" pill is for 8.8 -22 lbs....I called to speak with the vet in Australia about effective dosing for dogs under 8.8 lbs...they said to break the pill in half, because the way it is mixed, the ingredients are equally mixed thru out the little bone....half a bone would effectively treat a 5#-11# dog with no issue. They say they are "enjoyed like treats" and very easy to give.....my dogs have NEVER taken ANY pill easily!!! I have always had to hide it in little meat treats....I expect no difference here wiyth this pill.....I will get some raw hamburger meat and make little "heartworm pill loaded treats" this weekend for the kiddos and see how effective this stuff is for fleas! | Oh wow! Thanks so much for your response. I'm sorry you're going through that awful flea problem hopefully thay stuff works for you. I ordered like 6 bottles of Ivermectin and was upset when the vet told me this. So I'm going to use it then since you've had great success with it. Now my little guy weighs 4.25 lbs do you know how much I should give him? I have the little syringes that goes up to 1.0ml. I could email them and find out too.

| HFT Ezybones? I saw your post and I know it's from last year, but how did the HFT Ezybones work? I would love to find an all in one, but my little guy is super picky. Thanks! |

| The problem is when you do not buy heartworm meds from your vet you do not get the guarantee so if your dog still gets heartworms the company will not cover the cost of treatment which can be close to $1,000. Ordering from other places also puts you at risk of counterfeit products.

| A lot of people come into my store and buy ivermectin for a variety of issues regarding internal and external parasites. I think ivermectin is an amazing drug and we are lucky to have it, but if incorrectly dosed it can be very dangerous and kill your dog or put it in a coma. People are often much more liberal with their animal health management behaviors witb livesfock than they would be a pet dog- I will have people swearing up and down that the best way to deworm an animal with ivermectin is to give the injectable oraly and I always talk to them about the potential for internal hemmorage due to the medication acting differently when given in a different way. Ironically goats typically need three times the anthelmentic per pound of body weight than cattle or swine, there are so many variables in safe medication use, it is wise to be cautious and do your research.

| I have been using it for the past year with no problem. My vet was also not sure of the product and only told me to lower the suggested dosage because heartguard gave a lower dosage on their packet.
