YorkieTalk Newbie! | Two coats??? I have 2 year old female Yorkie. She had the normal puppy coat, which grew into the adult coat of silver. When she was 18 months old the hair on her rump turned back into the black course puppy coat. Has anyone had their dogs do this and what causes it? Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I suppose melanin causes the changes...? My Wylie's coat changed over his first 2 years, for sure.
