| Shots & droopy ears related?? Top Of The Morn' Okay, Petie has had erect ears since I met him @ 8 weeks old. Last week he was 13 wks and got a booster and rabies and before I had taken him that morning one ear was a little lazy, later after our Vet visit both ears were down. He also was coughing for 2 days after his shots. Now the coughing is gone, I shaved his ears(with a mustash trimmer) and his ears look like they want to come up but still haven't. I've read the posts as far back as I could and didn't see any conection posted. Maybe I haven't shaved enoungh? Before shots you couldn't make the little boogers ears go down now 1/3 is folded like this ....He feels fine or so it seems. ( Just ask the tiolet paper,or any of the loose socks that may have been laying around here!!!) If this has happend to anyone, should I be concerned? At what ages do they teeth through?? Happy Saint Patties Day!! Kelly & Petie |

| I'm not really sure about a direct ralationship bewteen shots and droopy ears....I do know that something stressful....illness, teething, etc....can cause ears (that once were erect) to droop. I would imagine shots can be stressful on puppies.....They do feel a bit 'down' and quiet for a while after the shots. Any other symptoms???? Runny poops or diarrhea???? Eating ok???? My Lil Bit's ears have always been up and she never hade an episode of droopy ears with shots or the diarrhea spell...... Not sure if that helped you at all. I do think trimming the hair must help some...I did that with my former yorkie and never had any more problems. |

| My first Yorkie, Half-Pint (RIP) had her ears droop when she received her shots. I think it (the shots) make them feel puny.

| Pixie goes in for her rabies shot next week, I'll let you know if her ears change. I hope not, since I love her perky little ears. They always stand straight up except for when she runs and then she pulls them into the side of her head like she is trying to be more aerodynamic!

| ears are up agian... Okay, so for about a week My little darlings ears drooped. Then one stood up. I waited to see if he was okay for sure and we atempted to tape, lasted maybe 12 hours and I couldn't stand it anymore because he kept itchin' & itchin' so I removed the tape and "wala" ears were up agian....I think he was feeling stinky after shots and maybe teething on top of that and just got used to his ears drooping....Let me know how your little one does..
