| Kennel Cough Has anyone dealt with kennel cough with their pups? A few days after I got Georgie, she started coughing. The vet diagnosed her with kennel cough and gave her some medicine. It didn't seem to be getting any better- it was actually a little worse-so I called about a week ago to see if I should take her back in. They said it can take a few weeks to get better, and said I could give her the medicine twice a day instead of just once, and that they'll prescribe me a few more days of meds for her if I did decide to switch her to twice a day. Tomorrow is her last day of pills, and she's still coughing. Tonight, I have only heard her cough once, which is a huge improvement. I'm hoping the rest of the night goes as well, but to you guys' experience, how long have you seen it last? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Unfortunately in puppies, KC can actually last months for some...a real bummer, I know. The important thing is to medicate so that it does not progress to pneumonia. So did she contract the KC from the kennel cough vaccine then (which is usually the case)? If so, I'd avoid ever getting that vax again as it's not a core vaccine...I never get it for mine...just distemper, parvo, and rabies.

| Both Magnus/Zoey had KC once. I'm pretty sure they got it from the daycare. If I remember correctly, it took them over a month to fully get rid of KC. During the time, I made sure they didn't come in contact with any other dogs. I also washed all their toys, beds, etc every week. It's really stressing to watch... They'll get better though. Just be sure to watch for any other symptoms. |

| Thank you both! Going to the vet in the morning to pick up more meds for her. Hopefully it is done soon! |
