| Tracyncarly My 5 1/2 yr Old yorkie, Carly, has a loose tooth on upper right. She is in obvious discomfort, rubbing at her mouth with both paws, and generally very quite and not herself. I've been feeding her soft foods today to keep her eating.. And she has been drinking and urinating... But is definitely not herself. It's the weekend of course, and I'm going out of town Monday and Tuesday. Should I try to find somewhere open, Sunday? Or do u think it will come out in its own and I shouldn't worry? Any thoughts or experiences on this that u could share would be wonderful. The tooth has some build up on it... She is not the fan of teeth brushing.. It's a struggle, she is just a little thing.. 4 lbs, and I'm battling with the thought of a teeth cleaning as it scares me to have her put out for the procedure. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would get her in ASAP on Monday as tooth pain can be extremely painful. She def needs a dental, and I would get her one despite your fears (which I totally understand!). As long as she is healthy and you do the pre-surg bloodwork, she should be just fine .

| Yes a vet for sure. My Mikki went through this last year. After removing her tooth she was back to normal! I would go ahead and take her in. Mikki is 4 lb also. She did great with her dental!

| Infection in a human tooth can go to the brain and kill if not taken care of, so I don't know why it would not do the same for a dog. |
