| Grooming products for my sensitive boy ? My poor baby has such sensitive skin . Just when I think I have found the right thing he starts getting itchy again . I am pretty sure it is caused by the grooming products because when I don't use it again the itching stops . I can't seem to find the right thing . This morning I gave him a nice rinse with warm water & apple cider vinegar and it was instant relief . Now what ? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If he has ongoing sensitive skin, then I'd be more likely to think this is due to enviro allergies. Does he chew or lick his paws?

YT 1000 Club Member | We use benadryl on our bully for itchy feet and it works. The only problem with it is its life is so short and we'd have to give it every 4-6 hours. It left us with a very sluggish dog...she's lazy anyway though. What type of grooming products do you use? We have to use ones with no added perfumes/dyes on our allergy prone dog. |

Thank you . I will try the Benadryl .. I tried several different brands . I will have to find a hypoallergenic one with no perfume at all .. For grooming spray I am going to use plain water with few drops of vitamin e oil ..

| I haven't tried these yet, but the apple cider vinegar or diatomaceous earth bars sound good for sensitive pups Sparkle Bar Shampoo Bars | The Honest Kitchen |

We don't normally give out dosage info, but for Benadryl we always do -- this is bc it can literally safe a dog's life in the case of a sting or allergic reaction...so you should always have Benadryl in your doggie emergency kit. The dose is 1-2mg per pound, so you'd give 5-10mg.

Ok , thank you . He seems to fine now after the vinegar rinse so I am thinking it is just the ingredients in the grooming stuff I was using . I will keep an eye on him though . Thanks for clarifying the Benadryl thing . I was not sure if we were allowed to give out dosage info for that .
