| So worried My baby has thrown up frothy yellow bile before and I know it is common but today for the first time I noticed it was a brown reddish color! I wiped some up on a tissue and smelled it and it smells like blood! ! Does anyone know what this is? I'm so worried. My husband is away and I don't know if I should call the vet. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. |

| I agree that you should take her to the vet. This sounds serious. Please let us know what the results are. I hope your baby will be ok.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Actually it really depends. If the bile has a bit of reddish brown color to it, it's not necessarily the biggest deal as the stomach is very vascular and can have some bits of blood in it. But if a dog is truly throwing up blood bloody vomit (not vomit w/ a bit of rustiness), then that's different.

| He's been fine since and hasn't vomited since. Hopefully it was just something he ate. Thanks for all your advice |
