| Side effects to vaccines? So yesterday i had mia's shots renewed. Since she 8 pounds n small they only gave her bordatella and rabies n in two weeks the distemper set will be done. Now i know that not all dogs react the same to vaccines, but that some do have side effects. I also had max's shots done and had the same done well the last boosters done, he also has to return to do the same. Hoever, hes normal running around and being himself. Mia on the other hand she was normal all day yesterday but today she doesnt want to be touched , shes esting well and pottying usual. But She doesnt jump on my bed which is odd, remains laying down walks at her paste. is like her body is sore. Btw she also had bloodwork done for testing. She doesnt want to be touched, still wiggles her tail wen happy but again is like shes sore. Max is 4.5 months old and mia is 1yr 4 months old. Is this normal? I did call and they stated that it is normal to give 24-48hrs and if it continuous to take her in.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | One can get quite sore from a shot, it can ache and almost feel like a bad tender bruise/injury if touched...so it's likely just that. Keep a close eye on her and stay in touch w/ your vet like you're already doing.

| All dogs react differently to vaccinations. There can be many different side effects. I think the rabies vaccination can be really hard on some dogs. Hopefully your girl will return to her normal behavior soon. | I have seen a few posts that half of a chewable baby aspirin would sooth her pain/soreness. Given that she is very lethargic, may I give her half a baby aspirin? She looks a bit better today, last night she did one low cry for a second then stopped. She doesn't want to be touched she growls, sometimes I can pet her on her head but no where near her body. I am concerned I am going to give this last day if she isn't better by later I will take her in ASAP. Lesson learned, no more then one procedure a WEEK. and I have to take her back in two weeks for DHPP set that is paid for.

| When Callie gets any shot she gets really sore and will scream if you touch the spot when picking her up. She seems to act icky for the rest of the day and most of the next. I just tuck her in next to me and we take a nap I hope she feels better soon.

I dont like seeing my baby like this i get nervous and very concerned. Today i went home for my lunch and she was there laying under my bed still. I knew she hadnt eaten any kibbles from her breakfast , so i went and took out some wet food and gave her a bit she definitely ate it all. I happen to put 1/4 of an aspirin. When she was done she looked atme for more. Na-ahh. I spoiled her yesterday and today with wet only because she not feeling well lol. A few minutes later after eating the food she sat down and started barking at idk wat . Then she got up slowly and started attempting to play with a toy, she came to me with a toy to try and play. You can she is still a bit sore but she is showing improvement which is good.
