| Homemade Dog Treats Hi all, I found a few recipes which have ingredients that I have referenced with the ASPCA site to ensure safety. They have checked out, so thought I'd share them as I make them! Let me know if you make them and if your doggies love them! The first one follows: Wheat Bone with Yogurt Icing Topped with Sprinkles ============================== Ingredients ============================== Base -------------------------- 2 cups whole-wheat flour 1 cup cornmeal or rice flour 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 egg, beaten 1 cup water, use as needed 1 1/2 teaspoon of parsley 1 cup peanut butter Frosting -------------------------- 8 ounces cream cheese 2 tablespoons honey 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt 3 tablespoons flour Decoration -------------------------- Sprinkles =============================== Steps =============================== 1. Lightly grease baking sheets. 2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 3. In a large bowl, mix the dry and wet ingredients separately. Mix them together until dough forms. If dough is too sticky, add more flour until a smooth dough forms. 4. Put dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll dough out into 1/4" thickness. Cut dough with a cookie cutter of your choice. 5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until nicely browned and firm. 6. Now the icing, mix cream cheese, honey and yogurt in a bowl until smooth. 7. Stir in one tablespoon of flour at a time until achieve a good consistency for spreading. 8. Dipped cookie in icing or use a small spatula or pastry bag to frost the biscuits once cooled. 9. Place sprinkles on top of icing! |

| haha, I definitely will!! There are diabetic treats and wheat free treats and even cat treats which all sound great! I don't know if I should post one at a time or post all of them (think there are 20 over all?) I haven't made any yet but looking forward to Teddy's little face before, during and after consumption! |
