Listen, I feed raw - and feeding raw has been attacked to the end of the earth and back, so I truly do understand how it can feel when someone is speaking out against the very thing you're doing/feeding. Presently, it really doesn't affect me when someone speaks out against raw bc I don't have a need to defend it; and bc each person is welcome to their opinion. But believe me, there have been some very tough heated discussions here regarding raw -- and then too, at times, people felt attacked. So, while you to are welcome to your opinion here -- I think it's just important to really understand the sometimes sensitive nature behind posting things that make claims about which foods are "bad" and which are "good". It's also important to understand we have different angles from which people glean knowledge. Some people here appreciate a non-industry, non-political, lay person's perspective on some various subject....and that's okay. Nothing wrong with that. Others here value science-based, degree-based knowledge - and that's great too. What we do ask is that we, each of us, respect the others prerogative to glean knowledge from wherever they choose....bc no one's way is categorically "right" here...this is not black and white here. Gravity is black and white -- the subject of food, nutrition, and feeding our dogs is not. So, just please keep that top of mind when discussing this subject. As far as feeling attacked, that's never the goal here and we would hope no one feels attacked. I don't see any true attacking going on here, but I can't tell a person how they should or shouldn't feel. If you feel attacked, you feel attacked and you've a right to your own personal feelings. I'd just ask that you understand this is a often a passionate subject, and hopefully you'll understand why. I do think that some of these posts do border on being disrespectful (on both sides) and that's unfortunate - but that does and can happen when discussing a passionate subject.

| I think I should expound a bit on this with regards to my posting about Hill's, RC and Royal Canin foods. For some time on this forum, no one spoke up to say they fed the above foods because so many people had posted what the DFA's beliefs/opinions are and they were intimidated. I was not affected by what they said in terms of my choices. What bothered me is that I would see posts from people where they were advised to feed a prescription diet and they were here apologizing saying things like "I know the ingredients are bad" and asking what else they could do. I made a decision to speak up for the good of the pups that this could affect in a negative way. If a vet suggests a food for a sick pup, I don't think it is doing anyone a service and certainly not helping the pup to say the vet is making money off of the food and that that is the only reason he/she is suggesting it. I have years of experience with these foods and can speak first hand about how they help sick dogs. I don't feel a need to defend my personal choices regarding anything I do with my pups! I have given much thought to everything I do. As I have said over and over on this forum, I will continue to speak up for these reputable companies....for the good of the pups. People need to know about all types of food in order to make decisions for their pups.

It's okay to disagree with what each other are feeding - but if one does disagree, I'd just hope they post that opinion without denigrating the other. Quote:
