| Fromm Duck Formula Comparison There's not much argument about Fromm being a good dog food. Sure, there is better and there is certainly worse. While searching through all of the dog foods this past year or so, I keep coming back to look at Fromm. The sample packets we received were not a big hit with Gucci, BUT, that was during a time frame that my better half was feeding him a lot of cooked chicken. What dog food can compete with that? Since the Fromm sample failure occurred, we adopted a second pup, Zippy, and now a third, Louie. I find myself revisiting the Fromm dog food line. It's like I'm mesmerized by some of their history and somewhat limited production and availability in our area and I just have to try it again at some point. For various reasons I've sort of narrowed it down to three formulas to try next. The Fromm Gold Duck & Chicken Pate Canned Dog Food, Fromm Gold Small Breed Adult Dry Dog Food and Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals Duck & Sweet Potato Dry Dog Food. All three have "DUCK" as their first ingredient! I expect I'll purchase the canned and choose only one of the dry kibble to purchase. Here is their ingredients lists: The Fromm Gold Duck & Chicken Pate Canned Dog Food: Duck, Chicken, Chicken Broth, Carrots, Potatoes, Peas, Tomato Paste, Potato Starch,Choline Chloride, Betaine Anhydrous, Potassium Chloride, Taurine, Calcium Carbonate,Sodium Selenite, Folic Acid, Vitamins, Minerals Fromm Gold Small Breed Adult Dry Dog Food: Duck, Chicken Meal, Chicken, Oatmeal, Pearled Barley, Brown Rice, Dried Tomato Pomace,Chicken Fat, Dried Whole Egg, Menhaden Fish Meal, Lamb,Potatoes, Salmon Oil, Flaxseed,Cheese,Brewers Dried Yeast, Alfalfa Meal, Carrots, Lettuce, Celery, Chicken Cartilage,Potassium Chloride, Salt, Monosodium Phosphate,Taurine, Chicory Root Extract, Yucca Schidigera Extract, L-Tryptophan, DL-Methionine, Sodium Selenite, Sorbic Acid (Preservative), Vitamins, Minerals, Probiotics Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals Duck & Sweet Potato Dry Dog Food: Duck, Duck Meal, Pearled Barley, Sweet Potato, Brown Rice, Oatmeal, White Rice, Whole Dried Egg, Millet, Dried Tomato Pomace, Safflower Oil, Cheese, Flaxseed, Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Apples, Green Beans, Lecithin, Chicken Cartilage, Potassium Chloride, Cranberries, Blueberries, Salt, Chicory Root Extract, Alfalfa Sprouts, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Folic Acid, Parsley, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Bifidobacterium Longum, Lactobacillus Plantarum, Enterococcous Faecium, Vitamin A, D3, E, B12 Supplements, Choline Bitartrate, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Riboflavin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Biotin, Zinc Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, Manganous Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Cobalt Carbonate, Calcium Iodate, Sorbic Acid, Iron Proteinate, Zinc Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Sodium Selenite. Which of those two dry kibble would you choose? Why? Thanks! |

| My dogs like Fromms 4 star surf and turf grain feed and salmon... Fromms help the start of making kibble in the beginning. I like romms because they been around since the beginning. Helped produce the rabies vac. No recalls. Use local food to them A good representation of a Usa company. Is why I use my money to help support those kind of practices. JMO But I also use homeade foods in my dogs diet. Thats is the best imo then any kibble. Just kibble is easy |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Tough one for me to answer, bc I don't like flax for dogs as their Omega supplement - it makes too many dogs irritated/itchy...I much prefer just salmon oil or coconut oil. So I guess based on ingreds alone, I'd choose the canned.
