| Eating cat faeces..Normal or not?? Good day all* I am a new member and would love to get your opinion on something.. My two kiddies are eating my cats faeces like there is no tomorrow, it has come to the point where there is no need for me to clean the litter box anymore because when I get home from work they have done it for me.. Please tell me this is normal? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Many dogs go through a stage as puppies where they eat their own poo and others as well...and yes, that may include kitty brownies. When our cat was still alive and we got Wylie, we put her litter box in a closet and propped the door open so that only our cat could get in there to use it.

| I would say pretty norma, both of my yorkies did it. I had to come up with some pretty unconventional ways to discourage it. The cat poop has bits of cat litter and you definitely don't them want them ingesting that stuff every day. In addition to eating cat poop, one of my yorkies even licked up cat vomit when my cat threw up her hairballs....ewwwwww. And then has the nerve to want to give lick on my face. These little stinkers will eat almost anything. |

| Dogs LOVE cat poop....it apparently taste sweet to them....besides just the nasty obvious of our precious little sweet mouthed babies eating cat poop, another concern is the litter that is sticking to the cat poop that gets ingested also! NOT healthy! While the cat poop may not be unhealthy (except for the possibility of worms!), the litter is absolutely not good for them......and I would be really concerned about that fancy stuff with those crystal blue things in it! |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Oh it is normal for all dogs acutally to eat cat poop! It is not healthy for them, sic the litter sticking to it. I lifted the cat litter box up so my dogs could not get to it, but my cat could, I suggest you do that.
