| Ok friends, I need your advise once again ... How many of you out there have left your darling fur baby's at the vets from morning thru OVERNIGHT till the next day after being spayed ( or neutered)??? I can't stand the thought of Izzybeing caged up all that time in misery and alone. I had Zoey home after lunch same day with other vet. What's up with this?! And I was right there in bed WITH her too for 2 days! And they dont spay till 6 months, period. Don't you go by breed on when to spay? 😞 zoey was done at 5 months.... Feeling uncertain here....... |

| My vet wanted to keep Lola overnight, I signed a paper so I could pick her up a bit before they closed. I didn't feel comfortable leaving her because no one was there overnight. I also didn't want her laying in her urine and getting an infection. |

| Two girls were spayed, sent home same day, 2 girls were spayed, I insisted they stay over night for "just in case". (Not two girls at once, 4 girls all 3 years apart). I worked all day, for my peace of mind I insisted the last two were kept.

| I wouldn't and there is no need to unless something is wrong with your dog. A lot of vets offices don't even have someone staying with the dogs and will leave them there alone.

| No. I probably wouldn't have gotten her spayed if I had to leave her overnight.

| I would not want to leave my pup overnight, particularly if no one is there. I scheduled all of our sprays through the years when both my husband and I could be home caring for them a few days after their spays.

| Oh well thank you all so much!..as always great advice. Nobody there at night!! Oh that makes me cringe! That just about does it right there I tell ya! I will call tomorrow to see if they are willing to let her come home same day ....if not ...this will be a deal breaker. .....I will go back to old vet and have us a talk. Oh who likes to do that when they leave.....well I didn't have anything against her skills as a vet , but aren't your vets on call with a number on their answering service? This one isn't . Needed her more than once after hours and her service even wasn't on. Was I wrong to run? |

| My girls all came home after 5pm same day of spay. They were dopey, but I was more comfortable being able to watch them. If they have pain during the night, you can give them meds. BTW all my girls were spayed at close to 1 yr, after first heat, per my Vet's recommendation (to make sure growth plates were closed, and teeth were in). There are differing opinions as to when to spay, as you know.

| I guess I should have added, my last two girls that were spayed I was then using my current vet that has a 24/7, 365 day, fully staffed clinic, so pups are not alone with no one to watch over them, reason I insisted they stay over night... My first two I had a vet that did not have anyone that was on duty at night.
