| Question on teeth... I was looking at Oscar's teeth last night. His upper adult teeth have all come in...one problem...all of his baby teeth are still there too! He has two rows of top teeth...looks like a shark!!! LOL This is not the canines...it is the front teeth...Is this common...will the baby teeth come out by themselves or do I need to have them removed? He looks so funny, but he does not seem to care...more teeth to bite me with, I guess! Debbie - Oscar's Mom |

| How old is Oscar now? They should come out by themselves, but if not, the vet will have to do it for him. |

| Oscar will be 6 months old next week. His adult teeth came in nice and straight...just directly behind the baby teeth...his baby teeth are jutting out at an angle...kind of like "buck teeth"...he looks so silly! I will have the vet check him out in a few weeks. We are heading to Florida for a few weeks...I am sure Oscar won't mind postponing a trip to the "dentist"! Thanks for your input. | LOL...yeah, Tug O War is Oscar's favorite game as well...and if his humans are not playing it with him, he will just grab onto your britches leg and go for a free for all through the house...by his teeth! That boy ALWAYS has something in his mouth. We play tug, we play hang time, and drag him through the house...those nuffers get plenty of pulling on...not sure why the uppers are still there...??? The bottom ones fell out just fine...at least they appear to have...the adult ones are in on the bottom now and no baby teeth. They don't seem to bother him...it is just funny! He does look like a little shark...and bites like one too! I love him to bits tho....would not have him any other way... Debbie G. - Oscar's Mom |

| Hi! We had to have nearly all of Sweetie's baby teeth removed by the vet - we were having her spayed so while she was under they pulled her teeth. She still had 1 that was way up on her upper gum - it eventually fell out. The only problem with not having them pulled (and they don't fall out) is it can damage the permanent teeth because food can get caught between the 2 sets & cause decay. Hope this helps. |

| teeth Yep, My Sweetie looks like a shark too. She has two bottom canines. It does look funny but it has not stoped her from chewing a bone. She is almost seven month. It sounds like this is a common thing with Yorkies

| My chihuahua has two sets of ALL HER TEETH....talk about a shark mouth!!!!!! I mean all bottom and top teeth.....she will be 1 year old in April and I have spoken with the vet about getting this done soon. I have spent a FORTUNE on the greyhounds teeh....or lack of teeth....she just recently had another 7 pulled and only has about 3-4 left now.... I need to find a greyhound forum and warn people about adopting retired racers....they have the worst teeth in the world...all because of that high energy mush they eat at the track....which is why I INSIST on dry food for the Chi and Lil Bit! |
