| What vegetables can I add to diet - has sensitive tummy Hi Tootsy is having tummy issues at the moment and while I am waiting for test results to come (about a week I am told) I have changed her diet to turkey (I bake it is foil without adding anything to season it) and mashed up sweet potato plus her vitamins etc. She is having normal stools and her tummy is less bloated. The problem is she is sick of having the same meal all day everyday and I want to add another vegetable, if possible. I feel she is eating far too much sweet potato and I don't want to give her more than 4 oz maximum of turkey, as I have heard that you must not give them too much protein. So she has to fill up on the sweet potato. This is why I wanted to add another vegetable, but one that won't upset her tummy again. She was having chicken, carrot and beans, alternating with raw minced beef, salmon. All of the latter seem to upsetting her on occasions - not every time she eats them, but quite frequently. We feel that the carrots are upsetting her and wondered if we should avoid the beans as well. I also wondered if I could try giving her a boiled egg? Any ideas anyone. I will be getting help with her diet within a couple of weeks or so, but until then I am on my own, which is why I am asking for help. |

| Dogs don't get sick of the same meal. I add bell peppers, zucchini, broccoli, and carrots to my home cooked meals. Please be careful with long term feeding of home cooked meals without having a vet nutrtionist balance the meal for you.

| Thanks for your reply. So she isn't tired of this food. I thought she was, as she was no longer so eager to eat it. I do know what normal vegetables I can add to her diet, what I want to ask is; are their any vegetables that I could add that are particularly easy on the digestion, as this is her issue that we are dealing with at the moment. I am seeing a veterinary nutritionalist, as I said. It is not for a couple of weeks though. |

| Hey there! Yeah canned pumpkin works great my girl devours it! Also I hear that low sodium or home made chicken broth really helps when their tummy is upset. Or maybe you could just wrt her kibble with it a little to add more flavor. As for veggies I add a little caned cut green beans to my baby's breakfast and dinner she absolutely loves it! Good luck

| Many thanks for the suggestions given. I will try them one by one and see how it goes. 107Barney I didn't realise that your dog has GI issues and thought you were just telling me what you normally gave your dog! Thanks for letting me know. As I say, I am going to try them one by one. |
