| She Won't Eat Treats! Hi All, I recently adopted a 3 year old Yorkie (Snooki) and she is TINY! I've had her for about a week now and she's adapted quite well to her new home and family. She doesn't seem to have been previously trained, and I know that training older dogs takes a lot more time and patience. The only issue is that she does not like treats at all! I bought treats in a number of different textures and flavors, but she doesn't seem to be responding to any of them. Last night she managed to get to a small piece of a Ritz Cracker and seemed to love it as she sniffed around for more. Is it safe to use Ritz Crackers as treats? What else can I use as a treat/reward? |

| I have a picky treat eater too and I can't even tell you how much I've spent on treats that he's just put in his mouth and spit back out. The one thing I've found he likes is yogurt drops for dogs. I bought them off of amazon and those are his treats when he goes potty (I break them into smaller pieces). When we're working on training I just use his kibble and he seems pretty satisfied with that and it saves me money lol. I know some people use cheerios and carrots. I don't know if a ritz cracker would be okay because of the salt, but hopefully maybe someone else can answer that part. |

| Our Harry's the same...hates treats (yep, we too have tried every flavour/shape/consistency known to man!) in fact he's not really food orientated at all.... Harry's favourite treat is his squeaky Kong tennis ball - he'd do ANYTHING for that...!!! Others uses small pieces of cooked chicken breast, carrots, cheerios, small pieces of green beans, teensy little cheese cubes and (actually the one thing that Harry might eat!) tiny diced cooked chicken liver....makes me feel quite hungry...!!! Good luck!

Quite a few people recommended cheese as well, but I was worried this might cause some tummy problems. I'll try it out in small doses and see how it goes. Thanks again! | |

| Maggie is the same, but she loves little bits of banana or apple. I usually keep a banana on the counter and give her tiny bits, she loves her "nanas"! For the apple, I dice up small bits for her, no skin, and she likes this when we come in from potty.
