| My Furbaby is just not herself I have a Shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie), Jellybean. Jelly is a very active dog (1 1/2 years old) and always extremely cuddly. A few times in the last few months she is just not herself in the morning. She isn't excited to see us (she's normally over the top excited to see us in the morning), she cowers and walks with her tail between her legs and her head down. Is it possible she's just tired or not feeling 100%? Or should I be more concerned? I'm new to the dog world and just feel so bad for my little furbaby when she's like this. |

| This sounds like more than being tired. Hard to say if it is something physical or something psychological. Anything out of the ordinary happening on those mornings that she has done this? My Teddy dislikes rain and can sense pressure changes long before a storm arrives. He will pace with his tail down and hide. If you cannot pinpoint any unusual environmental factors (i.e. weather, noises, changes in your schedule or behavior), I would do a routine vet check. Best wishes in solving the mystery.

| I hadn't thought about the weather. Jellybean doesn't like the rain and it's been cloudy, rainy and dark for several days. She's happier tonight but still not herself. I've checked her for any pain and she seems fine. Thanks for the suggestion of environmental factors. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Some dogs get what I call "morning tummy" where they feel kinda sick due to having such an empty tummy, and may even throw up some bile bc of it. Could it be this, maybe? Will she eat okay on mornings where she acts like this?
